Gaspor’s family owned farm, located in the Basses-Laurentides region of Quebec, produces suckling pig of exceptional quality. Indulge in a world-renowned gastronomical adventure.
The know-how acquired by two generations of the same dedicated family brings you Gaspor’s remarkable suckling pig. With over 40 years of expertise in hog farming, Marc and Céline Aubin have successfully passed on their passion to their sons, Alexandre and Nicholas.
The result of a cross-breeding between Yorkshire, Landrace and Duroc hogs, our suckling pig is naturally milk-fed during the three first weeks of its life, then fed in nursery using specialised milk distribution equipment for the following seven to ten weeks.
At every step of the production chain, the animal’s welfare is paramount in order to eliminate any form of stress. Our farm is also Assurance qualité canadienne (AQCMD) certified, a program elaborated by the Canadian Pork Council, which guarantees food hygiene and safety, as well as mindful production methods for the animals.
Rich in vitamins and minerals, the milk’s recipe is well balanced and provides every essential nutrient a piglet needs to grow. Elaborated after many years of research, this milk provides a tender meat, full of flavour and with a texture unlike any other.
Gaspor family farm cuts, markets and distributes all its products. This means our clients can enjoy various cuts of meat to suit their needs, while we guarantee consistent product quality.
From slaughtering to the cutting board, the piglets’ carcasses are air-cooled for 24 hours. Cleanliness standards are maintained and inspection is carried-out by Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The final product complies to all Customs Standards, ready for export.
Gaspor suckling pig has a much more generous, distinctive marbling than other hog meat products. Its fat is whiter and firmer. Once cooked, it maintains a velvety aspect and hearty mouth feel.
Currently in expansion, the Gaspor family farm produces 5000 suckling pigs annually and can count on the dedication of 23 employees who take the family’s dream to heart: to continue offering a unique taste sensation.
